"Loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother"
Patrick R. Donohue passed into the loving arms of his Creator peacefully at home after a very courageous battle with cancer on February 20th, 2012. He was surrounded by his loving family. Patrick was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on September 28th, 1948. He is the son of Patrick F. Donohue of Erie and the late Frances Donohue.
Patrick lived most of his life in Erie attending Our Lady Christian School and graduating from St. James Grade School, Iroquois High School, and Erie Business Center. He was a loyal member of St. James Parish. He worked in retail all of his life and most recently as manager of CVS pharmacy.
He was a very kind, compassionate, witty person with a great sense of humor. His smiles and laughter will never be forgotten. He found great pleasure in life. His greatest pride and joy were his sons and granddaughters. He especially loved the big family gatherings with the Donohue and Chimenti families and Thursday night dinners with friends.
He was always very active enjoying walks on the peninsula and riding his motorcycle with the love of his life, Joanne. The rides on Rt.5 to North East and around the peninsula were most relaxing. Among his other passions were summer camping trips and the membership in the Harley Owners Group.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Joanne (Chimenti), sons Thomas Donohue of Pittsburgh (His friend Breanne Caution also of Pittsburgh), Christopher Donohue (Lisa), granddaughters, Olivia and Gracie, sisters Marie Catrabone (Jim) and Joanne Joyce (Michael), brother Michael Donohue (Wendy), sisters and brothers-in-law, Ed Chimenti (Sue), Judith Johns (E.J.), and Debra Sciamanda (Dave) all residing in Erie.
